"Though I'm known as Joyce, my first name is Helen - a Greek name. Greece has been a lifelong interest of mine. Did I only dream of walking barefoot on a dusty road to see the Delphi Oracle? Was it fate that gave me a Greek girl as a penpal? And was it luck that Magda, and her husband Demetrius, came to America with their little son to start a new life? In 1981, I married one of the many Georges, a Greek American. By this time I had spent a total of 6 months traveling the Greek mainland and islands.
As a special project for The Ohio State University Extension, I developed a slide presentation about the family life in Greece. In retirement, I have painted several pictures of that beautiful country and it's people. The ones below are now offered for sale. They are all originals.
